Congratulations on completing
the 2018 Minehead Triathlon!
Sunday 14th October 2018
WOW! What a day that was.
We would like to congratulate all who took part in the 2018 Minehead Triathlon in testing conditions. We hope you enjoyed being part of it as much as we enjoyed delivering it. The weather took it’s toll on both the athletes and the organisation of the event but overall the the event was great success and we’ve already received some great feedback.
Take stock on what you have all achieved:
900m swim course delivered in an 2 lap Australian exit format
20km out and bike bike route in weta and windy conditions
5km run along the coast and into the woods with a climb to make it a true ‘Channel’ Event
To see 156 athletes take to the water in Minehead was awesome, coupled with the fantastic support from all the spectators made the event feel welcoming, friendly and inclusive. We loved every minute.
Not only did we deliver this event for the first time we were also delivering a triathlon for the first time and we have learned a great deal. We will be putting the lessons learned into place for 2019 to make it even better.
This year prizes were given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the following categories; Overall Male, Overall Female and Mixed Relay Team. CHECK OUT SOME OF OUR OTHER EVENTS!
New for 2018!
The Triple is for those who think they’ve got the legs to conquer the Mendips, Exmoor and the Quantocks all in one year. The Triple is entry to all three of our 2018 mountain biking events and all the glory that goes with completing. Can you take on the Mendip Murmuration in June, the Exmoor Explorer in August and finish with the Quantock Quake in September?
Ticket sales for The Triple are limited. By committing to The Triple you ensure entry into all 3 events.
The Exmoor Perambulation, is a traditional circular long distance walking event dating back over 725 years.
This is one of the most challenging walks in the Exmoor annual calendar. During the 31 miles of cross country walking you will be taking in breathtaking views and accessing parts of the National Park not normally open to the public. You will also be participating in Exmoor’s rich history!
The perambulation is very challenging so training is highly recommended for the event, but it’s well worth it as the views are spectacular across Exmoor National Park.
Man vs Moor is approximately 10 kilometres of wild trail running featuring natural obstacles. Set in the stunning and remote western end of Exmoor National Park.
You’ll find yourself scrambling up and down steep combes, crossing boggy valley heads, swimming in Pinkery Pond and going underground in this truly awesome event.
Getting to the finish line will tough but well earned and you’ll leave with a massive sense of achievement. You’ve taken on the moor and defeated it!
The Mendip Murmuration is a gathering of like minded individuals coming together with a common purpose. Riding your bike through some of Somerset’s stunning landscapes. Cruising and carving over and around the Cheddar area will make for an amazing 20 or 30 mile route that will leave you wanting more.
The Exmoor Explorer is a non-competitive mountain biking event of 20 or 40 miles, held in the beautiful Exmoor National Park in the South West England.
Open moorland, woodland trails, natural single track and secluded Combes, the Explorer doesn’t disappoint. This iconic Exmoor cycling event was started 19 years ago and we are immensely proud to now run it.
The Quantock Quake is a non-competitive mountain biking event of 20 or 35 miles, held in the Beautiful Quantock Hills AONB, Somerset, South West England. Open moorland, woodland trails, natural single track and secluded Combes, the Quake has it all.
Whether you choose the 20 or 35 mile route you will be able to access areas of the Quantocks usually restricted. You’ll also see some of the greatest views from and of the Quantocks and be fully supported by our friendly team.
