We’ve got some exciting news!
At Channel Events, one of our core aims has been to raise regular participation in outdoor activity through mass participation events. We all know that when you enter an event it puts a pin in your calendar and by default you put yourself on a training plan. This may be structured or ad-hoc but you’re still getting out and active. We want to help you with this and in doing so have developed our new ‘Mid-week Warriors’ community.
What is the mid-week warrior?
We want to provide a weekly opportunity for you to become part of the ‘Warrior’ community and get out and active on a Wednesday evening with us. We have released a plan of sessions (see below) which includes trail runs, bike rides, sea swims, skills/development workshops and more. These sessions are FREE you’ll only need to have all your own kit. All we ask is that you join the community group on Facebook and let us know if you intend to come along each week so we have an idea of numbers.
How do you join the community?
If you want to be part of the Mid-Week Warrior community then you’ll need to meet some basic criteria. If you can say yes to one or more of the following then you’re good to go:
- Have entered one of our events in the last 12 months?
- Have entered an upcoming event?
- Are you a member of our volunteer TRIBE?
Simply answer the questions when joining the Facebook group and wait for approval.
Not on Facebook? Check back on the Channel Event website for the weekly session plan. All we ask is you send us an e-mail or a message to say you’re coming.
Our Mid-Week Warrior community will be centred around our facebook group. Join the group and keep up to date with the weekly sessions programme, chat with fellow ‘Warriors’ about training and opportunities to meet up and train together and be notified of any further opportunities that may arise such as training courses and workshops.
