Moonlit Meadow Run 2019
Join us on the 28th September 2019 for a night run in Long Run Meadow and French Weir Park. There’s a choice of 5km or 10km routes and every participant will be rewarded with a bespoke lazer engraved wooden finishers medal. 2018 saw the inaugural Moonlit Meadow run in which 130 runners took part. The feedback has been amazing and we are looking forward to seeing the event grow for 2019 and beyond.
Longrun Meadow and French weir park provide an accessible, safe and traffic free environment to enjoy the thrills of running at night flanked by the River Tone. Start by the iconic oak barn, pass by the stunning willow cathedral during your 2 laps (5km route) and 3 laps (10km route) before finishing arm’s aloft outside the beautifully built Centre for Outdoor Activity and Community Hub (COACH). The majority of the route is on hard pack gravel and tarmac paths but watch out for those sneaky grass and wood chip sections that can get a little wet in the winter month’s (all part of the fun!).
For winter 2019/20 we will be bringing you the ‘Dark Skies’ night running series with seven events spanning from Brean Down in Somerset to Heddon’s Mouth in North Devon. More information on the series will follow soon and we are hopeful entries to all seven events will open on the 1st March 2019.
One of the seven events will be the Selworthy Stargazer that we organised for the first time in 2018 – check it out here.
Thank you to all the runners who took part and supported our first running event. The initial feedback has been nothing but positive so we couldn’t be happier.
