One Fyne Night

17th August 2024 – TBC

One Fyne Night is a beautiful summer evening trail running event!

Comprising of 5km and 10km route options, One Fyne Night utilises the beautiful Fyne Court Estate in the Quantock Hills AONB to deliver a 5km course around the parkland and woods before finishing in the main courtyard area. 2 laps are completed for the 10km option.

This course is undulating but on good trails and tracks. Making your way around the estate, passing the church, through Broomfield Common, around the parkland and returning through the walled gardens and past the pond before finishing arms aloft as you cross the finish line!

Registration will open at 17:45, 10km starts at 19:00 and the 5km starts at 19:05.

Our bespoke wooden finisher’s medals are available as an optional extra to minimise waste, if you want one to show your efforts, make sure you pop one in your basket when entering!

As part of our drive to make our events waste free we have chosen to make the medal an optional extra, those who love their race bling can purchase theirs when entering but must enter at least 2 weeks prior to race day.

Please note: Online entries close 8 days prior to event day. Depending on entry numbers, we may offer late entry options online between 8 and 2 days to go or on the day entries. These ‘Late’ Entry’ options will be entry only and WON’T include the option to purchase a medal.

We are committed to removing waste from the events industry and only order medals from our local supplier for those who have entered each event before the main online entries close.

If you would like a medal for your efforts, please commit and get entered early. All of our medals are dated with the year, we firmly believe that a medal should be a momento of the event you’ve completed and you’ll never find us giving out the same medals year on year.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support for our social enterprise aims.

BRIEFING

This will be delivered as part of the final details email that will come out 1 week before the event. There will be a short final reminder safety briefing on the start lines just before the first race starts

SAFETY

The event takes place during the Summer and therefore all entrants must ensure that they have appropriate clothing and hydration for the weather conditions. The route will be way marked and we will be using bright orange arrows and flags as markers to make it easier for them to be seen.

We also strongly advise that trail running shoes are worn. Sections of the route are more technical than others but the additional grip of a trail shoe is required.

Runners aged 8 – 16 must run with a supervising adult who’s sight of them at all times. 16-17 year olds can run solo with parental consent. Unfortunately our insurance doesn’t allow under 8 to take part.

DOGS

I’m afraid that at this stage dogs are not allowed to compete. They are very welcome to join the spectators but MUST be kept under close control. We are working closely with the National Trust to see if we can offer a Cani-cross option, watch this space!

FIRST AID

There will be trained first aiders on site and around the route throughout the event. Please alert a marshal should you or a fellow runner require assistance or call the emergency mobile number printed on your race number.

EQUIPMENT

The event takes place during the Summer and therefore all entrants must ensure that they have appropriate clothing and hydration for the weather conditions. The route will be way marked and we will be using bright orange arrows and flags as markers to make it easier for them to be seen.

Don’t forget to bring your own drinking vessel. We are now cupless but drinking water will be available. You can also purchase a collapsible running cup from registration which you can reuse time and time again.

PARKING

Please park in the main National Trust car parks or in the overflow parking field. Follow the signs to the main courtyard and cafe. If you are a National Trust member, please scan your membership card at the ticket machine as Fyne Court will receive funds from the national pot to help keep this estate beautiful for everyone forever. Thank you

REFRESHMENTS

The Cafe will be open during the event and for a period before and after for you to purchase beverages and food to fuel and refuel.

TOILETS

Toilets will be available at the event hub located near the cafe in the main courtyard.

WEATHER

These event take place during the summer months but unfortunately we cannot control the weather. Please do make sure that you are wearing appropriate clothing for the weather and the time of year. We are of course hoping to have a lovely warm summer’s evening.

PHOTOS

The awesome Rubery family from Blowfish photo will be onsite taking pictures of you all enjoying yourselves. Photos will be available to purchase shortly after the event with all profits going to Exmoor Search and Rescue Team.

When searching for your images you’ll be able to search by bib number, selfie or a prominent word written on your race jersey!

Don’t forget your best smile!

FINISH

We want to see you celebrate as you cross the finish line. There will be a camera linked to a laser to automatically take your finish photo! Don’t forget to smile and get those arms raised.

Once you’ve finished, don’t forget to check back in with the team and receive your medal if you’ve opted to have one.
