Throughout the year we have so many events in different disciplines, so we thought we’d do some blogs to highlight them! Next up is the Summer Sigh! Our annual sea kayaking weekend!
The Summer Sigh is a gathering on the North Devon coast for all those who love sea kayaking. This event will be in its 6th year in 2024 and is the perfect way to round off your summer of sea kayaking adventures.

The weekend is super relaxed with small groups splintering off during the day and then coming together in the evening to share tales of those adventures around the campfire over a cider or a hot chocolate or two!

The trips out are guided paddles which are suitable for those with sea kayaking experience and are not led by instructors as a teaching weekend.

If you have family or friends who don’t fancy the paddling but would love to come and camp, we’d love to see them too!

There’s an option on the booking form for camping and BBQ only! There’s plenty in the local area to keep them occupied whilst you’re out on the water!

As with all of our events, we like to keep the number of paddlers small as this not only keeps the feel of the event more personal, but it also minimises the impact on the local fauna and flora to a minimum.

We don’t have an onsite photographer at this event as it would be really tricky with groups separating out and doing different things, so we encourage everyone to take photos during the weekend that we can all share afterwards!

Online entries open on 1st January, but if you fancy going, you’ll need to be quick as this event normally sells out in around 27 hours!  This year we’re expecting a record breaking time though as our Springboard to Summer weekend sold out in less than 7 hours this year!

Don’t just take our word for how great it is, here’s what some of our paddlers have said:

My 2nd time to the kayaking weekends and I have already diarized for next year. A really good team offering a range of options depending on experience and energy levels ! Highly recommended for keen kayakers

hi…its our third trip with Sea kayak Devon…and we are probably going to book again for next year. We have booked overnight camping trips and would be happy to recommend
