We know how much you all love the Steaming to the Coast Trail Run. Honestly, it means the world to us. The last two years sold out incredibly quickly! So quickly in fact, that the waiting lists alone could have filled another entire train. Off the back of that, we made what felt like a bold but exciting decision this year: we took a leap and chartered a second train so more of you could be part of it. But the entries just didn’t come. We tried everything we could. We promoted it as widely and as loudly as possible, and we kept prices as low as we realistically could. Still, with so many empty seats, we ended up taking a significant financial hit on this year’s event. That’s been a tough one to process.
Because of that, we’ve had to make a really difficult decision for 2027. We’re going back to just one train, which means entries will be capped at 300. If the demand is there again in the future, we would absolutely love to bring the second train back, but right now, it’s not something we can commit to with confidence.
SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A RUN
If you’ve joined us before and you’re thinking about coming back next year, please don’t leave it until the last minute. Booking early genuinely makes a huge difference. It gives us the security to plan, to commit, and to keep creating something special! It gives you something pretty amazing too: a goal, a date in the diary, something to train towards!
And if you’ve never experienced it before, we’d really encourage you to take a look at what past entrants have said.

We’re also incredibly proud that over 60% of our participants are women, and that so many solo female runners tell us how safe and supported they feel at our events. That matters deeply to us, and it always will.
