Swim Training

All distances and categories include an open water swim (if you choose). The senior races have approximately 75-100 metres and the kids 1.5km race has a 50m swim. We recommend that you can swim 150m in training. You’ll need to swim in your running gear so please make sure that you (or your kids) are comfortable doing so.

For those who don’t wish to swim, you can complete the course using the alternative route that takes you to the next obstacle, Total Blackout

For all entrants there is a free acclimatisation swim and the date for this will be released in due course. This is to put all those worried about this obstacle at ease, give you a sneak peak and help you get acclimatised to the water.

Training

General

This event is open to all abilities. The challenge and reward of completing the route in this stunning remote setting will be the same for all who enter and your finishers medal will prove you had what it takes and conquered the MOOR!

We suggest that you do some form of training beforehand. If you are new to running there are many apps and running groups to help get you started. This is an off-road event and we do recommend that you cover distances off-road and in trail environments. The nature of the terrain is going to make this feel further than the distance you’ve entered so we suggest you can road or trail run a little further.

The ‘Ultimate’ starts at 10:00, the Classic starts at 10:15 and the Light will start at 10:30. We expect all entrants back safe by 14:00. The Kids 1.5km will start at 14:30. Our events are more about inclusion, accessibility and participation than competition.

No matter what your pace, enjoy the route and take on the challenge – bring your mates along to add some helping hands or some friendly competition. Get out and have fun – that’s what it’s all about.
